17.10. Data Quick View

Data quick view is somewhat similar to reports in that they both provide parameters prompting for end users' input and retrieve data accordingly.

Major differences between data quick view and reports are as follw:

• Designing data quick view is simpler than reports because it does not require the time consuming report template designing.

• Data quick view displays results on screen. The results can also be downloaded as local files which can be easily imported to spreadsheet processors such as LibreOffice and Excel. Because report formats can be quite complex, reports are primarily to be printed on papers. Note that PostERP browser-based architecture produces reports only as PDF files.
